There are 47 prefectures and 1,788 municipalities in Japan, and as of June 2022, all 47 prefectures and 1,223 municipalities have adopted open data.

The lack of human resources and the know-how is often cited as the reason for the failure to take off.

To solve such issues, YRP UNL has successfully conducted open data training for regional government office staff responsible for open data. The training was conducted at the University of Tokyo, Open Data Center (UTODC), and local facilities in the prefectures. The training was coordinated with the Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and Organization for Vitalization of Local Economy by Digital transformation (VLED).

There were many questions during the training, so YRP UNL has collected and classified them.

A list of them can be found at the following URL. (in Japanese)

This is a collection of frequently asked questions and answers about each step of the process of preparing, releasing, and utilizing open data.
